  • Overview

    McShane Construction has an opportunity for an experienced accounting associate to support the operations of our Auburn office. The Accounting Associate will utilize the company’s construction and accounting systems to assist with accounts payable, subcontracts, change orders, insurance, subcontractor payment applications, certified payrolls, credit applications, and more.

    Responsibilities

    • Enter invoices into CMiC, copy checks, send out checks
    • Scan all invoices to Project Accountant
    • Enter Subcontracts and Change Orders into Textura
    • Prepare insurance start-up forms and submit new certificates to Assurance. Save on the network and update checklists
    • Enter project utility bills into excel tracking sheet
    • Enter project lumber invoices in excel tracking sheet
    • Match copies of checks to corresponding invoices and file
    • Process credit applications
    • Request Insurance Certificates
    • Print, staple, code all monthly subcontractor payment applications
    • Copy, scan, and save all manual certified payrolls on the network and file office copy
    • Filing
    • Make Bid Book and Closeout Binders/Tabs
    • Make file folders for all subcontracts issued
    • File project delivery tickets
    • Route any items needed for Project Accountant (bond inquiries, etc.)
    • Cross-train with Project Administrator and Project Accountant
    • Special projects as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • 2 years related accounting or construction administration experience preferred
    • Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce work that is accurate, complete, and error-free is required.
    • Ability to communicate effectively and work productively with others.
    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
    • Other success factors include reliability, positive attitude, professionalism, and an eagerness to learn.
    • Ability to use or learn project management software.
    • Ability to use a computer, the Internet, and word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and email software.
